More from the ongoing “Empty Spaces - Brighton” Project

Since the recession really took hold in 2009, I’ve been trying to document the number of shops in Brighton that have shut down.

In the first two weeks I had over 50 individual stores recorded, and this was just during my commute to work or images taken during my lunch hour.

Hopefully in 2010 we’ll start to see some change.

Because of the weather earlier in the year, Brighton’s “Burning of the Clocks” Parade was cancelled - This led to loads of Chinese Lanterns being released on the beach on New Years Eve. A beautiful sight really.
